Pink & Poodles

This look was inspired  by my dog, Rosie. I’ve had her almost all my life and she is the sweetest pup around. She is fun, flirty and sweet… and her favourite colour is pink. I know this because her nose is pink, as well as her collar, and she chooses pink bows when she goes to the groomer). All jokes aside, I wanted to incorporate Rosie’s fun spirit in this look, and have some fun with fall trends.

I incorporated Rosie’s fluffy tail into my look with a peplum skirt from Forever 21. It was a steal at around $13 and is so chic. I decided to go mostly monochrome with this look and matched the blush pink skirt with a lace top also from Forever 21 and a satchel. I decided to wear a black bra instead of a nude one to help tie in the lower half of my look, and add some edge.

Speaking of edge, I love these black on black, all black everything studded stiletto pumps. They’re from Winners, and I acquired them in a shoe-trade with a best friend. They make a bold statement, and pairing them with opaque or sheer black tights make you look like you have legs for days!

The satchel I’m wearing is c/o Nowistyle Japan, a new clothing website. This bag looks like the famous Proenza Schouler PS1 satchel, but I’ve been receiving so many compliments on its colour! I love the brass clasp detail, and the fact that it’s vegan leather and so light to carry around all my work and school essentials.

Rosie and I share a special connection… or at least I like to think so. I’m always inspired by the things in my life, and Rosie’s been through all of my style evolutions- dating as far back as bellbottom jeans of grade three. People say dogs look like their owners, and I can only hope I look as good as Rosie when I’m 84 (Rosie’s age in dog years).

This is your last week to enter my TIFF Beauty Giveaway! A winner will be named by the end of this week.

oh.. by the way, it’s my birthday today and I’m also on What I wore Wednesday on the Pleated Poppy!
