Mad for Missoni

Missoni’s inexpensive diffusion line dropped in stores and online at Target last week, and people have been going insane in the hopes of snagging a piece from the coveted collection.  This is Target’s largest designer collaboration, with Missoni creating items from Menswear, Womenswear, Children, bedding, home accessories and even a bike! And what a bike it is…

The bike was available online only, and it sold out within seconds.  Some schmucks put it up on ebay, put expect to pay between $500-900!

The line had some amazing pieces for the home, but other bloggers have been saying the quality of dinnerware  is disappointing.  While I love the eponymous Missoni stripe print, I’d have a hard time coordinating the colours in a space.  A neutral alternative is the Passione Loops pillow in this gorgeous colour combo of eggplant and chartreuse.  For $29.99 it’s a steal, if you can find it in stores.

Of course, one of the biggest draws was the apparel.  I fell in love with the Sweater Dress with Front Panel after seeing it on Chiara Ferragni.  I love that it has a colour blocked panel, so that the print doesn’t take over the look.

I also loved the V-Neck Knit Cardigan in multicolour zig-zag for its classic Missoni print, and gorgeous pastel colours.

While I was shopping on Bloor Street last week, I met a woman who was wearing head-to-toe Missoni for Target.  She was wearing a zig-zag knit dress, brown Missoni for Target tights (which catch and pill on everything), and even the sweater I’m lusting for!

I asked her how she got so lucky to score all of these beautiful Missoni for Target pieces.  She laughed and said she made her husband line up in front of Target last Tuesday while he was away on business.

After inspecting the pieces closer, I have to admit that the quality is very impressive!  The knits are tight and vibrant, and tempt me to pay the inflated price on ebay!  Hopefully when my aunt will be able to pick up a couple pieces at Target when she goes shopping on my birthday Monday… and hopefully they will restock their shelves.
