Bargain Hunting: Joe Fresh Shoes & Silk Blouse

Last weekend, I stumbled upon (remember that website? The “pre-tumblr” era) a sale at a Joe Fresh store on Queen Street. Items were marked down 50 to 70 per cent off, and I managed to score a couple bargains. For everyday basics with a colourful and trendy twist, Joe Fresh is an amazing source. While they might have a boxy fit, I find that the prices (especially if you catch a sale) are so low, that you can afford to take them to the tailor or play up the basics with whimsical accessories. Continuing with my Valentine’s Week theme, I kept a rosy colour palette, save for a few accents.

I’m wearing a Joe Fresh printed silk blouse, Forever 21 peplum skirt, J. Crew bubble necklace look-a-like and of course, Joe Fresh ankle strap stilettos.

Screw Louboutin elitist red. It’s all about economical Joe Fresh orange soles. I fell in love with these shoes the moment I saw them. They were the last pair, and when a last pair is in my size, I take it as a sign. I snatched up these orange soled babies for a whooping $20. Down from the original pricetag of $99, I think they’re a hit.

Constructed out of leather and featuring gold metal toe caps, these sexy stilettos are right on trend with their ankle strap and toe cap. Ankle strap shoes are my favourite shoe trend, because they are both sexy AND comfortable. I have a high arch, but I have a lot more confidence with a strap holding my foot in place.

I’m also wearing a J. Crew look-a-like necklace from Urban Planet. It was only $7 and fits the bauble bill.

The print on the shirt is divine, and made only more divine at its $15 discounted price for SILK! H&M doesn’t even come that cheap. I fell in love with the paisley pattern, but I like that it’s arranged in neat rows, so it’s not too busy. I found that from far away, the pattern mimicked hearts, so I thought that if you paired it with a flirty peplum skirt (like mine from Forever 21), you get a sexy hourglass silhouette, perfect for enchanting that special someone on Valentine’s Day. With stockings and a more conservative heel, this look could easily go from office to Valentine’s date night, but you can always stash a killer pair of kicks like mine in your bag to change into to allude to what’s to come later…
