When I visited Southern California in January, visiting the beach and a vintage amusement park was on my bucket list. My sister knew the perfect place… Belmont Park. This park, complete with a vintage white wooden coaster and carousel, was set along a strip of sand at Mission Beach. We went there on my last day in San Diego, caught the sunset and had some ice cream. To match the vintage scenery, I wore a pastel blue Dixa Layered Lace Dress from Ted Baker, a black chain hand bag (similar here) and macaron heels from Daisy Street available at ASOS.

This Dixa Layered light blue lace dress from Ted Baker is perfect for springtime. I love that it’s versatile and can be worn to a fancy event like a wedding, but also works for a cute date outfit. With a pair of white converse sneakers or easygoing leather sandals, this lace dress can even work for a casual garden party. The lace details and shape are so feminine and fit in perfectly with the scenery in Belmont Park and Mission Beach. It was incredible watching the sun set on my last night in California! I even dipped my toes into the freezing water… let’s just say I want to come back this summer and take full advantage of the beautiful beach.

Belmont Park had many amusement rides for kids, from a submarine ride, a vintage carousel and a cute little train. I also loved seeing the long boarders and kite surfers along the beach. I wish we had time for dinner to hang out on a patio to people watch! Mission Beach really captured that stereotypical “California lifestyle” we all dream about; evenings on the beach, surfer dudes and pretty teenagers grabbing ice cream and gossiping about high school. A bunch of them asked me to take their picture in front of the same ice cream sign, and they were so sweet! I made sure to give them those “blogger angles” my sister and I are so used to when taking photos for our blogs or Instagram.

My shoes were truly a once-in-a-lifetime find! I fell in love with a pair of macaron heels from an Alice in Wonderland collaboration from a Japanese fashion brand, but they didn’t come in a size 39, nor ship to Canada. I found these Daisy Street macaron heels on ASOS and they were on sale for around $20, which was a sign! They’re not very comfortable, but worth it just for the heel!

I can’t wait to revisit this vintage, pastel paradise soon. Until then, I’ll be California Dreaming. If you’re looking for more posts on SoCal, my sister now runs a travel blog, Sasha San Diego highlighting the area. Hopefully this plug will earn me another opportunity to visit!
