Emerald Isle

Last week, I escaped to Paradise Island, Bahamas to relax and rejuvenate. My sister and I got incredibly lucky and found a travel deal too good to pass up, so we headed south. It was my first time to the island, and I fell in love with the pastel coloured buildings, aquatic life and the serene yet stunning yachts that filled the marina. Bahamas is all about glamour, and luckily, I brought a couple pieces to play the part.

I love this dress because it is light to wear (and incredibly easy to pack) yet looks very structured and tailored. The dress hugs my curves perfectly, and the overlapping hem and leg slit is a sexy and current touch. I fell in love with the deep emerald green colour, which I echoed in the collar necklace.

While this dress is a basic solid-coloured jersey dress, my glamorous glitter sunglasses and necklace add interest. I think the key to packing light, but heavy on style is to pick simple wardrobe staples and dress them up with your favourite accessories. By simply swapping the necklace and sunnies with a couple large gold cuffs or a skinny belt, you get a different look as well.

I took these photos in the Cloister gardens, a popular spot for wedding photographers. I loved the architectural ruins set amidst the sea and lush gardens. While my dress is a deep wintry jewel tone, I loved the contrast from the white limestone backdrop. It was definitely a dream location to shoot in… and I look forward to sharing more pictures from my trip.

That dress is stunning and you wear it so well. You have the body of a model. I also never realized how well Emerald pairs with Grape or Deep Purple as you did here. I have stopped by here before. Hope you stop by my blog as well.

Have a Great Tuesday!! Ada. =)

this dress is so beautiful!! it is surprisingly elegant such a vivid color, and combines very well with the shoes! i just bumped into your blog by chance, through chicisimo, i save it in my favorites 🙂

one doubt i have for tight dresses, what kind of underwear do you use to avoid nasty panty lines? i think the best option is a g-string thong (very skinny one), it is the only thing I think we need to remember when wearing this kind of dresses

Hi Marta thanks for finding my blog! Personally, to avoid panty lines I like seamless thongs from companies like Calvin Klein, Victoria’s Secret and La Senza… but even H&M has good ones! For a dress like this, the right underwear is super important! – Natalie
