To me, nothing says summer more than lazing around in a breezy top, comfy flats and cut off shorts. This look can take you from a suburban bike ride to tanning at the cottage on a dock, and after a long, harsh winter in Canada, we deserve it! While I love wearing breezy maxi dresses when the temperature heats up, I also love how casual and versatile a pair of denim shorts can be. I own several, and love my vintage pair of Levi’s 501 shorts, so I decided to pick up a new iteration on the classic to help me get equipped for summer.
I’m wearing Levi’s 501 Shorts in Slash, hawaiian print top c/o Persunmall, pastel leather brogues from Amsterdam (similar here), Michael Kors Pressly watch, blue evil eye macrame bracelet from my recent trip to Athens, silver spike bracelet c/o Persunmall.
Ever since I lived in Holland a couple years ago, one of my favourite passtimes is riding around my quiet neighbourhood. Sadly, my omafiets (grandma bike in Dutch – which actually belonged to my grandmother), is in storage at my cottage, so I’ve been borrowing my boyfriend’s road bike, which is much too tall for me! While I used to wear skirts and heels in Holland, in Canada, I prefer to wear a pair of denim shorts. The 501 style is long enough and ACTUALLY COVERS MY BUM (all caps was necessary), while still being a cute, sexy length. This pair is new, so I’m hopping more thread fraying will happen soon!
For a cute weekend summer look, I like pairing denim shorts with a cute tee, and I love the scalloped tulip back of this one. Flats are a must, and when I’m not wearing Keds sneakers, brogues are an elegant alternative that are still functional.
I always wear a helmet, (I put it one before riding), so I like to wear my hair back. I love this romantic twist ponytail, because it keeps my hair away from my face.
I look forward to wearing these classic Levi’s 501 shorts to summer concerts, at the cottage and at the beach!
This post was sponsored by Levi’s, but my love and devotion for classic denim shorts is all my own.
