Houndstooth winter coat and purple faux fur stole

I haven’t posted an outfit for a while, because I’ve been completely preoccupied with studying for the LSAT (round two). Thankfully I wrote on Saturday, and it’s all over, at least for a little while. I’ve become quite familiar with the quietest and most inspiring places to study in Toronto, namely at the beautiful Caven Library in Knox College. If my boyfriend reads this he will probably be angry I’m spilling his secret studying spot! Regardless, I had to give credit for the beautiful background for this shoot. I was on my way to work and had just finished studying, so I snapped these pics in the courtyard of the building.

I’m wearing a houndstooth coat c/o SheInside, a faux fur stole (similar here) and Steve Madden booties. This outfit is comfortable yet stylish at the same time. The fur stole might look fussy, but you can pair this accessory over any old coat to breathe new life into it. The massive houndstooth print is graphic and picks up on the black and white trend this season. I love its oversized cocoon shape, which makes it easy to throw it on over a thick blazer or sweater.

While I’m only wearing a simple sweater and tights underneath, a statement coat and accessory can easily make you feel more put together-even if you’re studying nearly every waking second of the day!
