One of my favourite spots in the city is Allan Gardens. I gasped when fellow Toronto blogger, Syed from The Prep Guy has never been there for a shoot, so we met up after work to take pictures before dinner. I was a little upset to find that the gardens close at 5 and don’t have seasonal longer hours in the summer (seriously, they should consider it with all the light!) but we took some photos outside the famous greenhouse anyways.
I’m wearing a work casual Joe Fresh shirt dress, Alexander Wang Prisma backpack, suede Majorca shooties c/o TOMS Canada and a silver Tropical palm necklace c/o Pandora.
The necklace was the inspiration for this entire look, which brought together organic pieces anchored by a moody dark printed dress and structured bag.
I kind of laughed when I realized Syed also was wearing a backpack! They are definitely the it-bag of the season and I love the way his canvas Herschel tote works with his denim jacket and casual look.
My Alexander Wang Prisma backpack is a more architectural and mature take on the backpack trend and can be worn as a purse or a bag to carry ALL THE THINGS. I’m so impressed by how many things I can fit into this bag, and while the leather is heavy, the straps are very comfortable.
Afterwards, we headed to dinner at SCADDABUSH, which was very delicious. It’s amazing to come back after leaving Ryerson two years ago and see how much Downtown Yonge has changed.
