Now that prom and wedding season is in full swing, I wanted to share a formal look I wore to my law ball. I wore a black lace Self-portrait dress with nude shoes and wavy hair for a sultry night look. The theme of the evening was masquerade, so I based my look around a precious metal filigree mask I bought in Venice. The piece normally sits on my bookshelf, but I was so excited to finally have an excuse to wear it! I based my whole look around it, and wore a black lace dress to compliment the details of the mask.

Self-Portrait is often imitated, but I love the thickness and structure of this dress. It’s so flattering and fitted. I would definitely recommend the Self-Portrait Azaelea Midi dress if you’re looking for a classic, but trendy look. You can’t go wrong with a black dress, but the trendy lace makes this pick on point! Black dresses can too often be boring (which is why I opt for cobalt blue instead), but the lace details and contrast with the nude underneath is so sexy!
As for my makeup, I kept it simple with glowing, dewy skin, a neutral dark cut crease eye and my favourite NYX Liquid Suede lipstick in Soft Spoken. This dress speaks for itself, so for accessories, so I took an old ribbon and tied it around my neck for a DIY choker that highlighted my collarbone and let the dress be the focal point. It’s a really great inexpensive styling trick that’s super on trend right now.
I can’t wait to wear this dress again at a wedding reception or a birthday dinner. I would definitely recommend the Self-Portrait Azaelea Midi Dress to anyone looking for a designer dress that will really wow.
