Pink Tartan Fall 2013

Yesterday, Pink Tartan kicked off World Mastercard Fashion Week in Toronto, with a fall collection inspired by the 1960s and Hitchcock blondes.

I’m a huge fan of the label, and loved the collection’s use of colour, subtle print and ladylike shapes. Models wore long leather gloves and simple black pumps, adding to the glam aesthetic. All the girls also wore blonde bobs with a headband, which was an interesting style choice that sometimes looked off-putting, but definitely brought out the 60s inspiration.

Designer Kim Newport-Mimran was inspired by Constance Langdon (Jessica Lange) from “American Horror Story” and Marnie Edgar (Tippi Hedren) of Hitchcock’s “Marnie”, reports the Huffington Post.

I loved the understated silhouettes and the fur accents. Winter in Toronto always calls for a good fur scarf to keep you warm, and Pink Tartan’s Fall collection had a wide variety to add warmth and luxury to a winter look.

I would love to step out in one of the many fabulous capes from the runway.
