One trend I can’t get enough of is a metallic pleated skirt! I love the modern twist on a wardrobe staple. I wore this cute metallic pleated skirt from Zara with a flouncy pink blouse and heels for an afternoon of shopping and a blogger coffee date.
I’m wearing a metallic pleated skirt from Zara (similar pleated skirt here), a pink ruffle top from Banana Republic, a black chain bag by David Jones from Sears (similar black bag here), and a pair of jewelled heels.
How to: Style a metallic pleated skirt
You can wear a metallic pleated skirt a number of ways. A simple, sleek neutral turtleneck allows the skirt to be the focal point. A crop top is a great option for warmer weather too. Here, I paired this Zara silver pleated skirt with a ruffled blouse. The lines of the ruffles around my shoulders balances out the volume at the skirt. This kind of silhouette works best for someone taller though, so if you’re more petite or busty, I would opt for a tight cotton tee or turtleneck instead.
I really like how the straight pleats contrast to the flirty ruffles. It’s fun to play with texture to create a whimsical look. I also love the colour contrast between the silver pleated skirt and the soft pink blouse. A pair of chandelier stone earrings adds some glam too!
This outfit is perfect for an event, date night or a birthday celebration! I love how it can be transitioned into the spring season too.
