Grand Place

This long weekend turned into a four-day trip to the capital of Europe. Brussels, Belgium is a gorgeous city full of beautiful monumental buildings, galleries and amazing little bars. The scenery is so elegant and the lack of crazy tourists made for a pleasant trip. The Grand Place is a beautiful square in the heart of the old city centre. I’m wearing a cobalt blue lace dress from H&M and a Versace for H&M belt. The lilac leather belt is from Versace’s Cruise collection for the fast fashion chain. It’s made in Italy and is of such amazing quality! Donatella certainly disappoint this time either. I popped in to the Brussels Versace boutique and showed off the belt and the sales lady was impressed with it. She then showed me this bag “to match”. The bag was a stunning little studded number that will be on the back of my… View Full Post

Jason Wu for Target

I love a good cheap and chic collaboration. Jason Wu for Target is no disappointment with its preppy East coast ensembles and darling accessories. The best part? Nothing is over $59.99! The collection comes out in Target stores on February 5 (also my dog, Rosie’s birthday). Here are some of my favourites. The dresses are elegant and very demure, I love this white frock. It would look amazing at a garden party come summertime! I’m a sucker for sheer panels, and this dress amps up a reserved cut with sexy black sheer on the collarbone.  Those little sheer socks are sweet too! This black and white ensemble is so simple and elegant. It reminds me of the uniforms they used to wear on Gossip Girl. That blouse with the dainty bow tie belongs in my closet. I’d love to modernise it (a la Janelle Monae) with a tuxedo pant and neon coloured shoes. Jason Wu brought a little Americana… View Full Post

Marni for H&M

The dust has barely settled on Versace’s collection for H&M and already, another italian fashion brand, Marni, has been officially announced as the next designer collaboration.   The spring collection is due in stores March 8.  I like Marni’s evocative prints and knitwear, but the teaser above doesn’t give much away.  I really hope a printed sleeveless shift dress will be designed, though I’m liking that floral white necklace.  Marni is known for its colourblocking and print clash, so we can all expect that come springtime. “I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints,” explains the designer, Consuelo Castiglioni. Here’s to hoping this collection is better quality and more appropriate for the season than Versace’s South Beach inspired winter 2011 line.
