The Spanish Steps was one of my first destinations for my reporting trip in Rome last month. I was writing a story for Cultour Magazine, which will be published next Tuesday, so sit tight! In the mean time, here’s a rough-cut of a video I produced to go along with my story.
The steps were full of tourists, fake designer goods and flowerpots. I tried to dodge the persistent hawkers, that sold their bizarre goods and peculiar tourist services to unsuspecting tourists. I enjoyed a gelato just like Audrey Hepburn while taking notes in my Moleskine about the people in the square. It was one of the most beautiful squares I visited on my trip, rich with history and very prominent in Rome.
There was something extra special about visiting the steps in May, because the city puts out azaleas along the steps, adding colour and vibrance to the staircase.
I tried to match the purple azalea flowers with this mauve frock from H&M.
