Tangerine Shorts & Lipstick

Summer is finally here. It feels like I went from trenchcoat to crop top in 24 hours… and I’m loving every moment of it. It can get sticky in the city, so I wore a cool white tee with a pair of shorts and flip flops to stay cool.

I was inspired by punchy citrus shades, and fell in love with these high-waisted floral print shorts c/o Nowistyle. I decided to match the orange colour with my beauty look, the perfect opportunity to test MAKE UP FOR EVER’s new Aqua Rouge in shade #17, a bright waterproof orange that matched my shorts and didn’t melt in the heat. I kept things simple with a basic cropped white tee from Urban Planet and a black trapeze bag also c/o Nowistyle.

I love the gold buckle on this handbag, though I wish I could make it look less floppy. The answer might be to stuff it with summer essentials like sunglasses, bandaids, a hat and sunscreen!

I also loved my jewelry for this look. I’m obsessed with my new gold spike ring (a steal from Winners) and layered on more vintage gold jewelry and a peach “Hermes cuff” from Joe Fresh.

I love the idea of a simple cropped white or black tee, and I think this would also look great with a maxi skirt or pair of palazzo pants… which are good ways to stay cool without showing as much skin! But with summer finally here, I’m happy to shed all those layers and flirt with new summer trends.

This outfit is so lovely! I wouldn’t wear a crop top to school, but maybe in the holidays when it’s warm and sunny.. And indeed, you have to wear something high-waisted I think.
Actually, do you have such waves in your hair naturally? It looks beautiful!

hi anna! i couldn’t wear this to school or work either, but i’m currently out of school and unemployed. yay! and yes that is my hair in its natural state in the summer… i like to play up the texture by keeping in the waves and letting the humidity do its job. thanks so much for the lovely compliments <3
