I love this time of year, especially when school wraps up and I can start packing away winter clothes for good. I wore this outfit – a chambray shirt with pink skirt when I went out to celebrate finishing exams with my mother. We went to Mamma Grazzi’s in Ottawa, an Italian restaurant with a gorgeous patio in an old courtyard. It was sunny and so gorgeous, I was glad I changed out of my “exam taking outfit” and into a cute skirt and flats.

I’m wearing a chambray shirt from Old Navy, a pink skirt from J. Crew, black lace-up flats from Old Navy (old, similar style here), a horshoe-shaped bag from Aldo and purple mirror Ray-Ban aviators.

I love this chambray shirt and pink skirt combo. I love the contrast between the casual, tomboy denim with a girly skirt complete with a ruffle hem. This skirt is one of my favourites in my closet, and is perfect for work in the summer with a silk blouse, or a casual day date like I’ve worn it here.

As for my hair, I was so busy with exams last week that I didn’t have time to wash and blow dry! I worked with the natural oils to do this boho/sleek dutch braid pony. To get the hair look, simply take a 3 inch section on the front of your head, and make a dutch braid. Secure the braid with a clear elastic, and use bobby pins to secure the braid to the back of your head. Then, gather the rest of your hair, smoothing flyaways and secure the pony with another clear elastic. This style is great for the gym or a run, or just for running errands. If you like the undone, boho look, before pinning back the braid, pull apart the braid with your fingers, and use a texturizing spray or dry shampoo.

I’m obsessed with my new snakeskin bag. It is almost a Chloe Drew lookalike for less with its horseshoe shape, top flap and circular rings… except it was about 1/100th of the price! For now, I was glad that I found this designer inspired bag to keep within my budget! Let me know in the comments below if you have an item you’re craving to pick up to kick off the spring season!
