Midi skirts are a feminine separate every young woman should have in their closet. Perfect for work with a blouse or silk shell, or worn with a crop top for a fun date night look. I wore this floral midi skirt with some neutral pieces for a cool spring look while on my vacation in Mexico, but this outfit idea is perfect for Valentine’s Day as well.

I’m wearing a floral midi skirt c/o DealSale, a grey crop top from Forever 21, jewelry c/o Foxy Jewelry (similar bar necklace here), Elektra sunglasses c/o Polette, quilted wallet on chain from Saks Fifth Avenue, and suede Majorca booties c/o TOMS Canada.

These cat-eye sunglasses are my new favourite from Polette. They are extremely high quality and very sturdy. Unlike most cheaper sunglasses, these are made from a hefty acrylic and the metal corners and arms are high quality as well. My mom and sister loved these so much, they tried to hide them from me! I love the way they add a glam element to my look.

The trick to pulling off midi skirts is to find one with a good length. If you’re petite, make sure it falls above or at the knee to keep your legs looking long. If you’re taller, you can get away with wearing a midi skirt with flats (for an Audrey Hepburn look), but if you’re more petite, any heel will be your friend. Keep your blouse tailored, tight and simple to let the midi skirt create an elegant hourglass silhouette!
