United Nude Shopping Night in Amsterdam

Last week, I attended United Nude‘s shopping night, at their Amsterdam flagship store. I’ve always loved United Nude’s creative and cutting edge footwear, and their marriage of fashion and architecture. The brand was actually
created by an English shoemaker, Galahad Clark (of the Clarks family) and Dutch architect, Rem D. Koolhaus.

I had to pick up a pair of these shoes, the Eamz sandal in pewter, because I think they epitomize Dutch design.

To the event, I wore a black bustier and graphic-printed maxi skirt from Primark.

Here’s a quick video of the event. I was using my 50mm lens, so it’s not the best quality!

The store has an incredible design concept, with each shoe encased in a single cubby, like a true work of art. The Wall of Light™ (yes, it’s trademarked) emits an eerie and futuristic coloured glow on the shoes as the LED lights change colours.

The shopping event was an opportunity for Amsterdam’s fashionable elite to mingle, sip cocktails and take advantage of the 30 per cent discount on everything in the store. Some popular models were even 50 per cent off, including the popular Eamz sandal and the Geisha platform.

It was a fun evening, but I was heartbroken to have to pass on the gorgeous Web Hi model. Even at 30 per cent off, it was too much for an impulse buy. But they are a stunning pair of architectural footwear.

I have to admit, I’m loving my shoes! A girl who worked at the store said they’re “Amsterdam approved.” I haven’t tripped on the cobblestones since.
