What I wore: World Mastercard Fashion Week Day 5

On the last day of World Mastercard Fashion Week, I decided to embrace another colour trend for the season: blue. I fell in love with this Fiona Paisley printed midi dress c/o Missguided, and decided to pair it with ombre tights for a monochromatic look. I love the way the tights (which are also from Missguided), change colour, and are an edgy step up from regular legwear. It’s not a look you could wear every day, but for fashion week, it’s fun to play with accessories a bit.

For practicality, I was toting around my Kate Spade Maggie bag, which kept within the blue theme and stored my DSLR perfectly. My navy booties were from Zara a few seasons ago, and even though I felt like I was a foot taller, I was relatively comfy in these boots and the slinky jersey dress all night long.

My outfit (I can easily give thanks to my amazing tights) was featured on a couple style blogs as well.

I also caught up with Samantha Tablada, a Ryerson Fashion student, who was shooting for Style Circle Co.

Lastly, I met Michelle Lindo, a Toronto-based streetstyle photographer and blogger from Local Access Toronto.

That night was packed with shows, and I’m still working on gathering reviews and recaps of all the shows I saw. The highlight of my evening was definitely Hillary MacMillan’s art nouveau-inspired collection, where I had the opportunity to interview her backstage. I also enjoyed the Thomas Balint show, which was a menswear collection with an edgy Japanese influence.

I had the chance to catch up with my friend Scott, who was snapped wearing a classic Burberry aviator jacket.

I also enjoyed getting pampered at the shows when I had an hour break in between shows to get a manicure done by a Maybelline pro. I love the cobalt and gold colour combo, and these nails are definitely #bornwithit!

For a little nod to Gatsby, I’m wearing a cuff/ring bracelet with pearls and rhinestones. Coincidentally, Stephen Caras’ show was full of pearl string details on all the evening gowns, so I was on trend with this one!

I love your look! Those thights and bracelet are great, accessories at strange places are always amazing, aren’t they? 🙂
