Work Wear Wednesday: Black jumpsuit

black jumpsuit (2 of 6)When it comes to work wear, a simple button up and pants combo is often the easiest route. Lately, I’ve been looking for more unique pieces that are still office appropriate, and this black jumpsuit from Aritzia is formal enough for a desk job, yet fancy enough to wear to a wedding or celebratory dinner.

I wore this black jumpsuit from Babaton at Aritzia, Prisma backpack by Alexander Wang from The Room, suede cage sandals from Vince Camuto, and a gold bracelet from J. Crew.

I took these photos at Commerce Court before heading to my birthday dinner with friends. By throwing on a blazer, this evening look could easily be business-appropriate. I would love to wear it with a sleek tuxedo blazer in a rich jewel tone, and swap the sandals for a pair of sleek, suede pumps.

I love how my Alexander Wang Prisma Backpack is also a versatile piece that can go from business casual to date night. During the day, I like carrying it by the top handle, and when I’m out on a Sunday morning for brunch and exploring the city (aka lining up for Bang Bang ice cream), I like carrying it like a backpack too. The shape is structured and modern, yet can fit so much!

Another key accessory to this look are my Irresistible Me hair extensions. I already have really long hair, but the 24″ Royal Remy extensions in colour #14 add some serious volume to my look. They were the perfect addition to my birthday look! I can’t wait to share a review of the extensions (and a quick tutorial on how to wear them) on my YouTube channel soon! Stay Tuned.

If you’re in a work wardrobe rut, I would definitely invest in a sleek black jumpsuit that can be layered under blazers and jackets for fall. I also love how comfortable it was to wear all day (no shirts untucking!) and it looks great paired with sleek metallic jewelry!
