Work Wear Wednesday: Patterned Bow Neck Dress

For this week’s edition of Work Wear Wednesday, I wanted to share a feminine outfit that can be worn outside of the office as well. A bow neck dress is formal, yet on-trend. I paired my patterned, long-sleeved bow neck dress with a pair of sensible navy flats and a chic tote for a pretty, polished look.

I’m wearing a bow neck dress from Marks & Spencer, Claire flats from Payless (they are seriously the comfiest ever!), sunglasses c/o Polette and a Prada double zip tote.

I love the retro print on this bow neck dress. It reminds me of my favourite TV show, Mad Men. I could easily see Megan or one of the girls in the office wearing this number, albeit a bit shorter. For me, this dress has the perfect length. It’s appropriate enough for an office, but not dowdy for when you want to grab drinks with the girls afterwards.

I wore this bow neck dress from Marks & Spencer out to dinner with my boyfriend. I also wore it to school and the legal clinic that day, so it really did shift purposes! I simply swapped out my Kate Spade laptop bag (this laptop bag is over 70% off on sale!) and wore a cute Prada tote. This chic tote is one of my all-time classics. You can add this to any outfit and feel immediately polished and fashionable. It’s definitely an investment piece, but it has stood the test of time!

As for my Payless flats, I cannot recommend them enough. I get serious blisters on my feet when I go barefoot, and this pair from Dexflex requires no breaking in time. I love the perforated faux suede and little gold details. I love the price too… they’re affordable enough to get in every colour for every mood.
