Ombre Nails

One of the hottest nail trends this spring is ombre. It can be done in any colour, and it’s a whimsical twist on candy-coloured nails. I did my own DIY mani, drawing from another huge trend – mint colours!

This look is easy to achieve, and doesn’t require any talent. Prime nails as usual, and line up your colours in the desired order.

From my pinky to my thumb I used: Revlon in Minted, Essie’s Turquoise & Caicos, Love & Beauty from Forever XXI in a light blue, Maybelline Forever Strong Pro in Hyper Jade and a Dollar Store nail polish in a sparkly teal.

Even if you don’t have a range of similar colours, you can create new colours by layering. To create the darker turquoise shade on my middle finger, I first put on a coat of light blue, and after it dried, I put a layer of Turquoise & Caicos on top. You can experiment with creating new ombre shades by layering as well, and can probably get away with having only three different coloured bottles to complete this manicure.

So have fun with this new beauty trend! It looks amazing in neutrals or other easter-egg colours that are perfect for ushering in springtime.
